There is a black box next to the camera with a thin film inside in my HTC Evo. Is this a water damage indicator? It appears to have no function at all other than my logic as being rice paper that would dissolve in water.

David, thanks for your comment. The water damage indicator is usually at the bottom of the battery. On my HTC Magic, it is a small white sticker. It turns red if you’ve got water damage. I doubt the black box is the water indicator sticker. Have you had any problems with the way the phone works?
